The 15th DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics brought together around 80 participants from the DACH+ region at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz from 21 – 23 September 2026.

The conference started on Monday with an intensive programme of five technical workshops and one doctoral workshop, offering participants practical insights, hands-on experience and opportunities for discussion. The day concluded with the Welcome Reception at the Ars Electronica Center, providing a relaxed setting for networking and exchange. Participants also had the opportunity to join a Deep Space 8K tour and experience one of the Ars Electronica Center’s highlights.

The main conference took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, with 21 full papers and 5 short papers presented. The scientific programme covered a broad range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics and Cybersecurity in the Smart Grid. The poster session featured 18 posters, providing additional opportunities for discussion and exchange.

On Tuesday evening, the Hans-Jürgen Appelrath Best Paper Award was presented to Matthias Hertel from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology for his paper: “A Benchmark for Electrical Load Forecasting Across Grid Levels: Time-Series Transformers Outperform Established Methods”

We would like to thank all participants, speakers, authors, reviewers, workshop organisers and everyone who contributed to the conference. We greatly appreciated the inspiring contributions, discussions and exchanges throughout the three days in Linz.
